Pressotherapy

What is Pressotherapy

Pressotherapy is a treatment that uses sequential pneumatic compression to improve blood and lymphatic circulation. Through special boots that inflate in sections progressively, a pumping effect is generated that facilitates venous return and lymphatic drainage naturally and effectively.

At Physio WOW we use professional pressotherapy equipment that allows us to customize the pressure and programs according to each patient needs.

How it works

The treatment is performed in a comfortable and relaxing way. We place the pressotherapy boots that cover from the feet to the hip, and for 30-45 minutes the equipment applies sequential compression in different chambers:

Compression starts at the feet and progressively advances upward, mimicking the natural movement of the lymphatic system.

Pressure can be adjusted according to your comfort and treatment goals.

Different programs allow us to focus on drainage, sports recovery or relaxation.

The effect is similar to receiving a lymphatic drainage massage, but more uniformly and for longer.

Benefits of Pressotherapy

Pressotherapy offers multiple benefits for both athletes and people seeking to improve their well-being:

Accelerates muscle recovery after intense exercise by eliminating waste metabolites such as lactic acid.

Reduces the sensation of tired and heavy legs, especially useful for people who spend many hours standing or sitting.

Improves lymphatic drainage, helping to reduce fluid retention and edema.

Provides an immediate sensation of lightness and well-being.

Perfectly complements other physiotherapy treatments.

Who is it for

Pressotherapy is ideal for athletes who want to optimize their recovery between training sessions or competitions, people with tired or heavy legs sensation, patients with tendency to fluid retention, as a complement in injury treatments where there is edema, and anyone looking for a moment of relaxation with therapeutic benefits.

In our clinics, pressotherapy can be performed as an independent treatment or as part of a more complete physiotherapy session.
